Mark Pauly is a Full Professor of Computer Science at EPFL, directing the Geometric Computing Laboratory. His highly influential research focuses on geometric computing, shape analysis, digital fabrication, and architectural geometry. He developed foundational work on point-based graphics, quad-mesh generation, and structural topology finding. Pauly's research successfully bridges the principles of mathematics, materials science, and computational design to foster innovative solutions for advanced manufacturing. He is a co-founder of two EPFL spin-offs (Phase Shift AG and Ray Form SA) and received the Eurographics Outstanding Technical Contributions Award in 2016. He is also a former principal investigator at the NCCR Digital Fabrication.
