Mette Ramsgaard Thomsen
Mette Ramsgaard Thomsen is a distinguished Professor of Architecture and the founder and head of the Centre for Information Technology and Architecture (CITA) at the Royal Danish Academy. Her influential research explores the profound intersection of architecture and computer science, focusing on how computational logic challenges traditional architectural thinking. She emphasizes 'new digital-material relations' and the circular bioeconomy, investigating how bio-based, waste-stream materials (like biopolymer composites) can redefine resource usage. Thomsen was awarded the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture in 2023 and served as the general reporter for the UIA World Congress of Architects 2023 in Copenhagen.
