Tristram Carfrae is a prominent structural engineer and designer, serving as an Arup Fellow and having been Deputy Chair of Arup from 2014 to 2024. Joining the firm in 1981, his expertise lies in integrating engineering and architecture to achieve optimal solutions, pioneering lightweight structures and long-span stadiums. He has collaborated on iconic projects like the Beijing National Aquatics Center (Water Cube), the Helix Bridge in Singapore, and the Sagrada Familia's ongoing construction. He is a recipient of the Gold Medal of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
