Gonzalo Casas is a software engineer currently working at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication and as a Technical Researcher with NCCR Digital Fabrication, specifically within Gramazio Kohler Research at ETH Zurich. With a profound background spanning BPM engineering, mobile development, and professional software engineering dating back to 1999, his current focus is on developing robotic fabrication packages. He is a key contributor to the COMPAS Framework, creating Python software interfaces (such as compas_fab) and bridges (roslibpy) that seamlessly connect existing robotic systems to parametric design environments. He is a passionate advocate for open-source architecture and the Internet of Things, helping organize the Make Zurich hackathons.
