Gilles Retsin
Gilles Retsin is an architect, designer, and educator based in London, acclaimed for his pioneering research in 'Discrete Architecture'. As an Associate Professor at the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture, he directs the M.Arch Architectural Design (B-Pro) programme and co-directs the Automated Architecture Labs (AUAR Labs). Retsin advocates for replacing mass-customization and continuous forms with the automated assembly of standard, discrete components to create complex, scalable architectures. He is the co-founder and CTO of the spin-out Automated Architecture (AUAR) and the founder of his eponymous architectural studio. His work heavily integrates digital fabrication, computational platforms, and circular economy principles to address the global housing crisis.
