Dimitrie Stefanescu is the Co-Founder and CEO of Speckle Systems, the open-source data infrastructure platform revolutionizing object-based data collaboration and exchange in the AEC industry. Before founding Speckle, Dimitrie accumulated extensive experience combining architectural practice (BOGDAN & VAN BROECK) and programming (Arup). He holds a PhD in Digital Design Communication from The Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), where his Marie Curie Fellow research directly addressed integrative design communication and open-source protocols. Speckle replaces traditional file-based silos with version-controlled, object-based graph storage linked by APIs, effectively acting as a 'universal translator' with connectors for over a dozen CAD and BIM environments, while making AEC data actionable for CI/CD and AI integrations.
